Newt, endorsing Romney: "Now you have to give him some credit. I mean this guy’s worked six years, put together a big machine..."

"... and has put together a serious campaign.... I think obviously that I would be a better candidate, but the objective fact is the voters didn’t think that. And I also think it’s very, very important that we be unified."

The effusiveness! It's overwhelming.

Newt has been acting like spoiled brat.

Newt is, always has been, and always will be the nasty asshole Pillsbury Dough Boy. At least he's consistent.

Newt is being a lot more mature about this than Santorum.

pm317, Damning w/ very faint praise.

Next step: the Newtster gives Romney a hearty handshake, ala W. C. Fields.

He needs the money, but pm is right.

Santorum will play the sorehead to the end. This is why the Romster outpolled him better than 3 to 1 in PA.

What purpose does the phrase I think obviously that I would be a better candidate serve?

Someone should counsel Newt on how to bow out with grace.

Vote for this lousy schlump Romney is what Newt is saying.

Probably akin to Obama's (paraphrasing) "I would be better at these jobs than anyone I hire."

Agreed, I think Santorum has just guaranteed by this d**k move that if Obama is reelected that his chances of being the GOP frontrunner in 2016 went from “slim” to “none.”

The conventional wisdom is that Romney must divert money away from the general election to pay off Newts debts and offer the dickhead Santorum some sort of "future office deal" so that both putzes will endorse him and help "excite the religious right/social issues Base".

What if the best thing for Republicans is to rely on the idea that conservatives are "energized enough" to already come out and vote against Obama and the best thing to get the Indie and woman vote is to have Santorum and Gingrich just shut up and stay in their Virginia mansions for 6 months.????
There are far less odious social conservatives than Newt and Frothy. I'd rather have Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, Tom Coburn, Pawlenty, Herman Cain working for me in the public eye..along with Christie, Rubio, Martinez, Meg Whitman....than self-righteous Rick and a washed up blowhard with more baggage than Hillary Clinton.

Romney’s Sensible 2012 Campaign Approach: the “BUTT” negates all that precedes it!!!! An Egyptology-based summary of my feelings of Romney's presumptive nomination, his campaign approach, and Pharaoh Obama's many failures. There is also a look back on McCain's "The One" video, also featuring the iconic movie.

In other news Jimmy Carter says Romney would make a good president. He says he would govern in a much more moderate way than he has campaigned. True.
