Who brings their baby along to a court apppearance?

Only Rielle Hunter.
It was not immediately clear why Hunter brought the little girl to court.
Ha ha. It was clear. Just not immediately.

Sounds like DOJ may be going after Edwards for campaign violations (fortunately for him, marriage oath violations are not prosecuted)

That little baby is far cuter than a blue dress, so there’s that.

'Mishandled'?
Mishandled??
He bribed her.

Lawyerly euphemisms are hilarious. My favorite was the estate lawyer who stole money from an old lady. He said on the stand he "co-mingled" her funds with his own.

Edwards is guilty of co-mingling and miss-handling.

I'd like to know what the FBI agents were wearing. What was Hunter's attorney wearing? They seemed to think it was newsworthy to describe the clothes on Ms. Hunter and on the baby.

Wait, wait, I know this one!

Happened over in Raleigh. Locals were goin' nuts. The progressives were typing that they "could care less" and that Mrs. Edwards deserves our respect. Funny how we should show her respect when her husband doesn't, but that's liberals for you.

In any case, I hope the feds arrest Silky Pony, and when they are through with him, that they go after Easley, then our current governor Bev "The Joker" Purdue. Those democrats are corrupt from top to bottom.

Well, she does live in California, and the daughter is only 17 months old. Personally, I wouldn't have traveled across country without my son when he was at that age (and didn't, though I certainly traveled across country at the time), and it's not like she could have left Frances with the child's father. Is her lawyer in the case "local" to the courtroom? If so, you'd think he could arrange for a sitter, perhaps. Who knows?

And hey, I only just learned that Rielle Hunter used to be Jay McInerney's girlfriend and that the Allison Poole character was based on her. What d'ya know.

It is interesting how events play out. Edwards is a smart guy with a lot of money whom you would assume that, after he got into the affair, he could take care of the problem (i.e., buy her off or have his friends do so), but instead, he manages to turn the situation into a complete mess for himself.

I was trying to tie this baby to the coma baby in Bright Lights Big City.
But this is all I could find.

A pregnant woman from Washington, D.C. gets in a car accident and falls into a deep coma. Asleep for nearly 6 months, when she wakes up she sees that she is no longer pregnant and frantically asks the doctor about her baby.
The doctor replies, "Ma'am you had twins! a boy and a girl. Your brother from Maryland came in and named them."
The woman thinks to herself, "No, not my brother... he's an idiot!" She asks the doctor, "Well, what's the girl's name?"
"Denise."
"Wow, that's not a bad name, I like it! What's the boy's name?"
"Denephew. "

The stock market surges at the damnedest times-...

Like in 1928, 1978...funny that.

And, yes a quarter million people lost their jobs last month.

Celebrate!

It's "less bad."!!

Meanwhile about -

Three and a half million people have lost their jobs in only the past seven months since Obama took office.

Then there is this buried in the report-[via Bloomberg]-

Wages and salaries fell 4.7 percent in the 12 months through June, the biggest drop since records began in 1960, according to Commerce Department data issued this week.

Add to that the commercial real estate mess which isn't even measured and it's still dicey.

All those-

"FOR LEASE" signs that you see at office buildings-those add up.

The Dude said...

No, to the liberal "mind" a slowing of the rate of increase is a decrease. Don't you get it? Obama is magical! Love the Obama!

I was thinking about the logistics of hauling a baby clean across the country, then having to go to court in a strange town where you don't know anyone, when it dawned on my that the Edwards' manse is just down the road in Orange county. A resourceful baby mamma would have asked if she could drop the baby off for a couple of hours. I am sure that Elizabeth Edwards wouldn't mind, or, barring that, wouldn't have noticed a(nother) screaming brat in a 36,000 square foot house.

Problem solved, plus John gets some one-on-one time with his side baby.

I'll take the threadjack bait.

Under Obama's car czar, American auto dealers shut down more than 3,000 dealers. Like Madasjawan said, this creates 3,000 empty commerical properties.

Under the Postal Service Postmaster, they may close 700 post offices. Another empty 700 commerical properties.

It's quite difficult to stage an economic recovery when our own dumbass White House and its minions continues to add to the downturn.

Hoosier Daddy said...

garage is still pissed that they had to send Bill over to North Korea on the rescue mission because his girl is still laid up with her boo boo arm.

By the way, where is the old crone? She must be really in the doghouse when Obambi lets Biden have more face time than her.

KCFleming said...

Edwards coulda been like Grover Cleveland: "Ma Ma, Where's my Pa?".

Failing victory, he could not reply:
"Gone To the White House, Ha Ha, Ha". But 'Big Daddy' Cleveland chose the route of telling the truth when his affair came to light during his run for the presidency, so there's one difference.

We'd rather talk about the economy-aka worst recession since the depression...

And, the Liberals started it!

I don't know where most of you live, well AJ Pennsylvania, and Hoosier well that's evident but in Nevada and California those damn signs are everywhere and I think some counties in California have unemployment levels at near some 20% and were going to let Nancy and Babs Philosophy run the country-the California Way...

Here from the ca.gov website is their unemployment rate numbers by county for June-

Alameda------11.4%
Alpine -------18.6%
Amador------12.0%
Butte --------13.3%
Calaveras-----13.7%
Colusa ----- -17.6%
Contra Costa--10.7%
Del Norte-----12.4%
El Dorado-----11.5%
Fresno -------15.2%
Glenn--------15.6%
Humboldt -----11.2%
Imperial-------27.5%
Inyo-----------9.5%
Kern----------14.7%

Such as -perish the thought- that the data are bullshit? Falsified? Faked? You know, like in all socialist nations?

TrimTabs Continues Throwing Sand In The Eyes Of Fake Economic Data

“While Wall Street is convinced the recession is over, the economy continues to shed jobs at an alarming rate,” said Charles Biderman, CEO of TrimTabs [Investment Research].

TrimTabs’ employment estimates are based on analysis of daily income tax deposits to the U.S. Treasury from all salaried U.S. employees. Historically, TrimTabs’ employment estimates have been more accurate than those of the BLS.

“The personal income report the Bureau of Economic Analysis released Tuesday contained huge downward revisions to wage and salary growth,” said Biderman.

“Two months ago, we asked BEA economists how they reconciled the huge declines in real-time tax deposits with their report of a modest decline in wages and salaries,” said Biderman. “They could not answer our question. We know now that by ignoring real-time data, the BEA was providing an inaccurate view of the economy’s health."

In those photos, Edwards and Rielle have remarkably similar facial features. No wonder he was attracted to her.

I suspect his wife's illness had a lot to do with the baby-making--isn't it a natural response to breed when you feel the finite nature of life? I doubt it was his first affair, but subconsciously, that's the first time he wanted a baby out of one.

Cedarford said...

John - I suspect his wife's illness had a lot to do with the baby-making--isn't it a natural response to breed when you feel the finite nature of life?

Hard to say his wife's supposed late-term stage 4 cancer, announced over 2 years ago with her still hitting the talk shows and appearing in good health and vigor..drove a John Edwards breeding frenzy.
Or that without the cancer, Elizabeth Edwards was well past breeding age (she is 60 this year)...so Johnny was simply seeking a substitute womb to fertilize..

That said, it is one fabulous excuse. "Yes, honey, I banged the receptionist and knocked her up...but only after I thought I was going to lose you when you were in the ICU after that car crash.."

The Dude said...

Liberals can excuse or rationalize any bad behavior perpetrated by other liberals. Morals, decency, common sense - all that is for others to worry about.

Edwards is a whoremonger, and R. Hunter is not his first whore.

Remember that Rielle believes that she is/will be the Next wife. How are those chemo treatments being administered to wife #1 going anyway? For the Next wife they first baby is considered the anchor baby...redneck style. I imagine that Rielle trusts no one else with her little bundle of DNA these days.

Ralph L said...

Elizabeth Edwards was well past breeding age
I'd forgotten this when I commented above, but she took fertility drugs to have 2 more children in her late 40's after their teenage son was killed. The hormones likely caused the cancer.

And do you know why? Because it's easy to have that morally relativistic point of view. It takes no effort on the part of a liberal or a leftist to have this mindset. When they feign outrage at value judgements, you know that their moral perspective is absent.

I developed a great admiration for Elizabeth Edwards and her approach to this traumatic experience in her life. I strongly suspect that despite the recent trials and tribulations, there must be a strong foundation based on something which may not be easily defined, which keeps them together. Let's hope that the family unit is not further damaged by whatever is disclosed during these hearings.
