What really pisses me off about that whole supposed 'gaffe' was that, what she had really said was that you could see Russia from Alaska, which is true. Few people have been so maligned as Sara Palin.

What if the Russia influence thing is the Democrat's Pizzagate?

Well, it sure likes like Palin staring at the Russian side of the Aleutian Islands wouldn't be any more useless than what the intelligence agencies did to protect the US Government under the Obama administration. Isn't what we pay them for is to protect us from stuff like Russia & China penetrating the workings of our government?

You know, if the Obama administration had cared about stuff like this maybe they could have had a Federal-government wide security stand-down, agency by agency, to see if computer security standards were being maintained. Then, they could have discovered stuff like at OPM: "Your Data Base Administrator is a Chinese national? And he's maintaining the database from China?!!! The Chinese have access to a database with every fed employee past & present, plus their security reviews! WTF!!!"

But, no. Computer security was thwarted at the highest level of the Obama administration, & no one did a damn thing about it. Now, they want to blame the Russkies for the Trump win because of their stupidity.

EDH, that's what Trump suggested to Christ Wallace: That, had it been the Democrats, they would have yelled 'conspiracy theory'.

If Putin were to get out of hand, I have no doubt Sarah Palin would shoot him dead, and then have him stuffed and mounted above her fire place. Murcia!

It's worse because if feminists were legit, she'd have been a damned hero. A woman who made it without her husband pulling tons of strings, who came into office and fought corruption inside of her own party, etc. She should have been the feminist icon they decided Hillary was instead.

As has been noted, if Democrats weren't so God awful at network security ("password" is a shitty password) and weren't so busy trying to lie to the people and explain the real truth in their emails, it'd be a non-issue.

Why were RNC emails not leaked? I'd assume that they were just boring as all hell with nothing remotely interesting in them. Republicans know if they're stuff gets hacked, the press will ask their readers to help them dig through the dump (see Palin emails --- which the press had no problem with being leaked)

I spent a year near the very end of the Aleutian Island chain (Shemya) courtesy of the Air Force. I was there for almost 2 months before the weather was clear enough to see the neighboring islands. Attu (a much larger island than Shemya) looked like the Rocky Mountain front range when I first saw it. Surprise the hell out of me. It was only about 20 miles away. The weather there sucks more than most people can imagine. I used to have a t-shirt that read, "Shemya, it's not the end of the world but you can see it from here."

That is ridicule karma. The Republican VP Nominee was ridiculed for noting a silly fear of the Russian Empire being next door. But now the entire Democrat/RINO Gang is totally terrified of it.

Truth is Alaska is the only thing Putin wants back.

Russia hacked my emails in October. This caused me to switch from a levelheaded Hillary supporter to a robotic racist Trump supporter. I quit believing in God, left my family, and joined the Alt-Right. David Duke became my role model. I quit eating Kellogg's products. I lost my job and became a meth addict. Then, on that fateful day, I cast my vote for Donald J Trump,

All because Russia hacked my email. And also fake news.

Murcia!

Try 'Murica next time, clown.

EMD,

Haha... yes, I meant Murica! And I am pro-Murica! I think's it great Putin could find himself stuffed and mounted above some American's fireplace.

America, F yeah!

Murcia, Murcia, Murcia. That's what Jen said.

Mur-cia. I just met a girl named Murcia
and suddenly I've found
how wonderful a sound can be.

It isn't from the Aleutian Islands that one can see Russia, but rather from the Diomede Islands (Little Diomede being American, Big Diomede Russian) in the middle of the Bering Strait. Here's a pic of the two islands; Little Diomede is on the left.

Dr Weevil said...

Murcia? What does the 7th-largest city in Spain have to do with Palin, Russia, the Diomed Islands, or Trump?

You betcha!

Good to know Sarah's got this covered.

I used to have fun defending her back when she was relevant. It was 99% ad hominem. I haven’t kept up with her since then.

Michael McNeil,

Thanks for that. An Alaskan friend once told me of a hippyish sort, in the early '80s, who decided to walk from America to the USSR, for peace. He timed it so that the sea was frozen reliably, got himself to Little Diomede, then walked across that strait to Big Diomede. Where he was promptly arrested as an infiltrator by the Soviet border patrol.

The story goes that they interrogated him, ascertained early on that he was basically a harmless dumbass, and that pot had kept him warm during his journey. He must have been the most interesting thing that happened to them all winter/spring. They treated him decently and sent him back across the line.

I heard this story in the late 80s and it could just have been a yarn, but I liked it.

It is only about 50 miles across the Behring Strait and the Russian side has mountains.

Murcia could be hell on wheels, just ask Ragnar Hairybreeks. Oh, wait...

The swallow may fly south with the sun or the house martin or the plover may seek warmer climes in winter, yet these are not strangers to our land.

One of my literary clients back in the day lived in Gambell, Alaska, on a small rock off the Alaskan coast. He could regularly the then-Soviet coast.

Tina Fey just proves the rule that when a NYer thinks they're smarter than everyone else they're usually wrong, no matter how many other NYers applaud them.

Yes, but how often do you see a coconut-laden plover?

The Democrats laugh out of ignorance. Their complacency lost them the election.

If that's true, then Dems should be laughing with uproarious abandon

Not just them, but all the family members, friends, neighbors, etc. that are part of the background check. My parents were thrilled.

"Sarah Palin is a Russian mole" suggested an unnamed source that we just made up - NYTs

"Americans should be very concerned over recent reports that Palin is a Russian spy" said John McCain, kinda, I'm paraphrasing here. But it's what he meant.

"Can you prove you are not a witch?" - Inga on Althouse.

You know I don't like to just slag John McCain for no reason, and I suppose he had a moment of Bravery in Vietnam. But can anyone deny that the man is a fool? Haha sure I voted for him over Obama but really he is so manipulable, just a puppet for anyone who knows how to pull the strings.
