Hillary seems to have adopted the vocal mannerisms of Carly Fiorina.

It's uncanny. I was watching this video because it was the subject of a Des Moines Register piece titled "Did Trump impugn fifth-grader's question to Clinton?"...

... and I was struck by how different Hillary sounded, the catch in her throat, the strong but murmuring quality, the pauses that make you feel that she's really thinking and feeling. She sounds like somebody. It hit me: Carly Fiorina!

By the way, did Trump impugn fifth-grader's question to Clinton? Well, first, the kid didn't even ask a question. She just made a statement, that some people shun her and talk about her behind her back because she has asthma. Obviously, Donald Trump had nothing to say about that, but Trump did call it a "pathetic" "staged event." It was a staged event, 600 Iowans crowded into a school gym, but I don't know how planned the encounter with the girl was. Hillary used the girl for a political performance. She said:
"I really do think we need more love and kindness in our country. I think we are not treating each other with the respect and the care that we should show toward each other. And that’s why it’s important to stand up to bullies wherever they are, and why we shouldn’t let anybody bully his way into the presidency, because that is not who we are as Americans.”
I can't tell from the Des Moines Register whether that particular statement was what Trump was tweeting about. He said:
The Hillary Clinton staged event yesterday was pathetic. Be careful Hillary as you play the war on women or women being degraded card.
So I take it there were more gender politics going on. Maybe people were invited to share stories of victimhood, and that's what the little girl did. It would help if the Des Moines Register would provide the context rather than just act like an arm of the Clinton campaign.

Nope.. didn't see any Fiorina in the video. No self righteous scolding everyone or batting and blinking eyes like crazy like Fiorina.

In fact it reminded me of this video.

Why do people have to encourage and reward pathetic stories of victimhood, why all the weak sniveling about "bullies"? I agree with Trump, this shit is weak. Weak.

I vote for "staged." There is so little in the Clinton campaign that isn't scripted down to eye blinks that it becomes very hard to imagine Hillary dealing with an ordinary citizen in a spontaneous fashion.

It would help if the Des Moines Register would provide the context rather than just act like an arm of the Clinton campaign.

Amen.

You wouldn't think that women would have mannerisms.

Why isn't the 5th grader out selling magazine subscriptions like we did.

I'll go ahead and say that the odds of that girl not being a plant in the audience approaches zero quickly.

I've said, she is a good actresss.

She is just bad at improvisation.

Most of her lines are probably focus group tested.

That's bullying? That's what passes as bullying these days?

This is a new victim thing on the rise. Rich-world problem.

gbarto said...

Maybe Ann Telnaes will draw a cartoon of the girl.

Didn't see much of Fiorina. Bad flashbacks to the Jerry Lewis Labor Day telethons, though.

San Hillarius morphs to comfort her women and her female children. Big bad men can never make good Presidents. They are scary strong lik guns.

If America ever wants to be a serious country, the phrase "get over it" might need to be said to some special snowflakes.

Rude comments aren't bullying.

Asthma shaming - seriously. Is this supposed to be a new phenomena? I certainly have never witnessed nor heard about this ever before.

Nobody, and I mean nobody gets that close to Hillary unless it was planned previously.

Who is this stuff aimed at? It's certainly not converting any Trump voters. What percentage of voters are not decided on Trump v Clinton? As usual a small percentage of the voting public will decide this election.

David said...

Context? That would require reporting. Who wants that grimy job? It's opinion that counts.

Mark said...

Hillary did the crying game back in the 2008 election too.

Video here.

MacMacConnell said...

With the Grifter Clinton's history of lies and pre planned, scripted and vetted meetings with "normal everyday" people in dinners and on the street, how can anyone believe this was unscripted?

Maybe some little girl should ask her a "bullying" question about her part in "bimbo eruption" operations.

Will she give up her corn pone accent when speaking in the South OR to Black groups?

Two thoughts: 1) When will the Washington Post accuse Hillary! of exploiting children in her campaign?, and 2) Fortunately the child wasn't wearing a blue dress.

Who knows what memories of the Clinton Administration may emerge regarding young women.

averagejoe said...

I guess the Hillary2016!!! campaign couldn't find any photogenic youths with actual bullying problems, like a fat kid or a kid with bad acne or braces. All they could dredge up was this winsome teen whining about being shunned because of...asthma? Really? Lame... Everything about that was fake and embarrassing, particularly Hillary's crocodile tears.

More foofaw over what Trump said about this or that Democrat-protected class.

Meanwhile, Trump is talking about a 35% import tax to force the Ford Motor Company to not build any assembly plants in Mexico. And few people even know about it or what it would mean.

This all demonstrates the strength (I suppose) and the disaster that is simultaneously Donald Trump.

Jeb! should show up at a Hillary event and get a big hug.

"It's not about yapping"...as Jeb! would say. It's about "who we are"

We need HUGS from Hillary!

I see somebody wrote "You can never underestimate the stupidity of the general public." Perhaps I could have just left it there.

Another tell that it was staged, was when the statement from the girl started, Hillary was nodding in the affirmative. She knew what it wasn't going to be about Bill and his cigar.

Big Mike said...

And FWIW I think Carly is worth a thousand Hillary Clintons.

It's so inspiring that Hillary had the courage to openly oppose the Republican position that our country needs more hatred and cruelty, and that all children with asthma should be turned into Soylent Green. Renews my faith in our democracy.

Yeah..that segment was weirdly Fiorina like...methinks a bit of blown out cheerleader syndrome from speechifying. But right at the end the old Hil tone took shape.
Of course, gotta wonder what was edited out here.

This campaign season has been very entertaining so far. Hillary is not a nice person. She's a mean, soulless person.

She calls 5 million Americans who belong to the NRA her "enemy" and then talks about being kind and not bullying? Lol.

Hillary is evil.

Yes, Hillary is authentic.

I would rather listen to Hillary Clinton doing her fake-Carly voice, than listen to Hilary doing her fake southern accent.

Of course asthma shaming is a thing.

Context with the narrative? That'll cost ya extra. We got yer standard assembly line journalism here for the rubes, mass produced, corporate style. Whaddya think we're made of money? This ain't no foundation we're running here.

"And that’s why it’s important to stand up to bullies wherever they are, and why we shouldn’t let anybody bully his way into the presidency, because that is not who we are as Americans.”

That's right. We need a candidate who knows how to delegate the bullying to her staff. Kinder, gentler depositions, anyone?

From the school's website:
"Clinton Campaign Stop December 22
...After months of hard work and dedication, the Keota Sociology class is pleased to welcome former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Keota for a town hall meeting...Recognized by billions of people around the world, Hillary Clinton has been a pivotal player in modern history. This once in a lifetime opportunity will be first come, first served with no tickets available. Please come prepared to go through security screening as the secret service will be in attendance. ... You can RSVP to this event through Hillary Clinton's campaign website at this link:http://bit.ly/1J0GX2g"

So it wouldn't be uncommon that propaganda was emailed to those that registered asking them to think about issues and hence questions, and since "bullying" seems to be of vital national importance to Abuela Clinton, I wouldn't be surprised.

There are about 80 kids enrolled in the high school, and about 90 in the nearby elementary school that the 10y.o. in the video attends. Crowd estimates are 600-800. This poor kid and her friend just happen to be among the closest to the floor/Hillary. A guy in a purple shirt that is maybe with her campaign, (maybe her manager?) is near the little girls (photo at, uh oh--it's scrubbed! That's interesting. Here's one still up that's not as clear: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153580630962550) so I wouldn't be surprised if he nudged the child to make that statement, so technically Abuela Big Pockets could say she didn't plan it. Then again, it could all be an innocent event. And since the Mom wasn't there, we would need to hear from the adult at the event in charge of the child to get at the truth.

(I know, TMI! Couldn't sleep last night, was bored, thought I'd see if any truth to the 'staged' claim. Above is all I found and zzzzzz...)

Isn't Hillary the one who had the travel office personnel frog marched out of the White House?

And what about Hillary heading Bill's "bimbo squad"?

I also question the story about the kid being bullied because she has asthma.

Is that a thing? How do people, other than relatively close friends, even know that she has asthma?

I call bullshit on the whole thing. If we had a press not in the tank, someone would see who that girl's parents are and how they are connected to the campaign.

Since we don't, nobody will.

A funny story, one of the boys in my 8th grade Gym class fell on the floor panting and couldn't get his breathe. I thought it looked serious.

The Gym teacher, an ex-Marine from the Korean war, looked down at the kid in disgust and said "What is your problem?" "Can't you even handle 10 laps indoors?!!"

We all looked at the Gym teacher like he was an asshole. The kid said "I can't breathe, I have asthma."

The teacher said "That's no excuse, get your ass up and finish your laps, even if you have to crawl."

As the kid meekly got up, still in distress, the teacher told him he had asthma too. That's why he has to jog every morning at 6am, to open his lungs up. So he told the kid to meet him at the gym every day at 6am, and they would jog together.

In high school, the kid was a track star. He was a god damned running machine. Built like a gazelle. I'm talking, this kid could pick any girl and was never without a date.

Sometimes an ex-Marine bully, is a good thing.

I've had asthma my whole life and the idea that anyone would shun anyone for it is ridiculous. Our societal victim-envy is now so strong children are trying to claim asthma? Her parents have some growing up to do. Probably too late for the kids.

Hillary Clinton wants more love and kindness, via the state. "If elected, I pledge to threaten people with violence, in order to take more from them, for you." She knows not what love or kindness is.
