that photo gives me the same sort of sensation an Impressionist painting can have - that merging of foreground and background

I wished I'd brought my fisheye lens. That's what you need to really get inside the tree.

What's with this Scooby Doo van? I can see Hillary as Velma, Bill as Freddie, any number of chicks as Daphne, but who are Scooby and Shaggy? Does Scrappy-Doo fit into the picture somewhere? Does the van come with magnetic signs offering free candy?

It seems like I spent the weekend fixing the rototiller instead of gardening, but I did get it going finally and prepped the plot before the three-day rain they are predicting. Once you learn to fix a carburetor (thanks youtube) it seems like it is a full time job fixing them around here. I planted some peas, which is late, but I had the broken tiller, as I said, I divided up a monster asparagus root, left over from the old garden before some construction, to make a little patch, planted chard, beets, spinach. I used to think you couldn't garden before the last frost, but the weeds are sure getting started already. Anyway, we seem to be a bit behind Madison in the advance of the season, probably because the ice just went out, and when the lake is covered in ice, it adds a little chill to the wind.

what I love is that luminous flatness where the ground blossoms and those in back all seem to occupy the same plane as those in the tree when you let the image just hit you without trying to see depth - a fish eye take might be as good, but, for me, probably not better, because of the curvature they introduce would mess with that plane.

Browsing homes online is interesting because people make such odd choices in the privacy of their homes.

"Hello! We painted all the walls and ceilings of our otherwise tasteful and beautiful 4000 square foot home teal."

"Hi! I thought leopard print carpet and bright red walls would look terrific in the spacious den of my mansion."

"Like this picture of the garage? We thought the pile of rubble and garbage really made it."

Clippers looked pretty good in the third quarter.

Does anybody think these 900 dead bother Hillary's sleep?

Her destruction of the government of Libya sure seems like Smart Diplomacy(TM) to me.
