A forest year.

Samuel Orr made this from 40,000 photographs:
"The camera was set to snap a photo between once every 10 seconds and once every 10 minutes at certain key times of the year (snowfall, spring, fall colors)."

Great visuals, but mute the horseshit sound.

So where was his house?

Of course the Star of the piece is the Sun roaring aloft like a NASA space shot and causing the rain, snow, wind and photosynthesis that creates the food for man.

I miss green.

The sound was part of what made it so great!

I like the forest sounds. The drum of the woodpecker. Singing of the frogs.

The theme of the day should be downsizing. Watching the green forest leaves wither in time lapse is a metaphor for the US Dollar greenbacks.

All we have left to save us from a cold winter of discontent with 50 cent dollars is the Carbon energy reserves diligently grown over of millions of years of this video and stashed as Sun made riches. And it's all ours as soon as Obama's Gang lets it out of the prison they diligently put it into for Mythical reasons.

@traditionalguy: Just outside Bloomington, IN according to the Petapixel link. I would have guessed Mid-Atlantic/Appalachian, myself.

Very cool.

Hollyweird in its Golden age couldn't have improved it.

Guess he edited out the critters.

Some place garage should have been able to shout "Squirrel!!1!"

I have seen this one or one like it before (I think the one I saw was Europe some place.)

The Meadehouse duo could one up this with a year around Lake Mindota. Just link the Althouse photo stream and there it goes. There would be no shortage of animals.

I found it strangely depressing that it started and ended with Winter instead of Spring.

I live out in the country about 100 miles north of where this takes place. What a wonderful thing it is, to see this unfold each year. There IS a reason to live in "fly over country!"

Would love to see Chip Ahoy insert an animated GIF of Zeus the Labrador trotting through those woods.

The part I like best is when Obama rises in the back ground each morning, just like the sun, spreading his warth & love to each and every creature. He is our sun.

I wish his added music was not there. How nice it would ahve eben to just listen to the nature's sounds.

Except for the wolf and ? elk, all the sounds were Eastern forest sounds.

I miss those.

I tried, but I couldn't see the Forest because all the trees were in the way.

The year starts and ends with winter.
I loved it. It could be used to show how the sun's position in the sky influences the seasons. I may "borrow" it for a library lesson on seasons.

@wyo sis, I'm also borrowing this for my class. Love the sun angle changes.

I turned the sound down and could still only watch about half... maybe if I turned the sound off.

Or something.
