Shrivel or clench on a cold stone bench?

Stonehenge for the gnomes and garden variety trolls.

Not in that allergy hell.

I'm taking Allegra.. but I'm not very happy.

Yes.

Men have a paradox with the term "hard," to start.

Anything that green has a warming effect.

Very pretty, Madame.

Soothing.

I am so excited this Spring. We had a Red Bud planted a few years ago outside our study window, and it never bloomed. It went straight from dead winter twig to leaves.

I told the landscaper fellow that I thought the tree was a dud. He replaced it last November with a newbie. The new tree has *red* buds! They are ready to burst.

The site of the White and Pink Horsechestnuts, pregnant with buds, also makes my heart swell.

It's so swell to be alive and to see Spring.

Sight. Not site. Too much time on the internets.

My boys have a very nice space shuttle toy.

This is the space rover accessory.

I am not going to buy it. In fact, I am not even going to type anything else about it.

"Site" works too. Imagine you were Stevie Wonder. The site of the sight might still have the same effect.

Princess Beatrice’s hat. I just can't get it out of my mind!

Freeman,

Ha. The picture at the link you provided says a thousand words. I agree- no need to type anything else.

If only donuts had less aerodynamic drag... There would be much less phallic intimidation in the space business.

Conserve Liberty said...

IF true, this is scary.

Leon Panetta, not Obama, issued order to kill bin Laden?

Irene said...

MarkG, I thought Princess Beatrice's hat looked like an abstraction of the gynecological organs. Eew.

No, no, please explain. I don't understand.

This reminds me of the time my Mom skipped over some talk we were supposed to have. I feel I missed out on something important that could have helped me all these years.

MamaM said...

@Mark G...Have you seen the entire collection? Not sure if this is old news or not, but the one with MJ dangling the baby made me look twice and laugh.

Freeman Hunt said...

I think it goes beyond regular rocket phallic.

I like your new profile pic, bagoh.

Congrats to Steve Doyle tonight, flipping the assembly seat of the exiting and execrable Mike Heubsch, the current SoA that is defying the court order keeping the Capitol open. Also same district as Dan Kapanake, under recall. Good riddance to both.

very durable and provides lots of launching fun

Oh, that poor girl. She must take after her mother.

Thanks, Freeman. Those guys are all adopted now to great homes. The white one in the front now lives with two guys who have a condo right on the sand in Playa Del Rey, CA. I mean they step out of their living room right onto the sand. Proverbial lucky dog.

I know animal videos are pretty cliche', but I just saw this today and it's hilarious. One of those things where you say: I wish I'd thought of that, because it's really easy, but great.

Garage,
thanks for reminding me of the Kapanke recall - I've been meaning to send him some money to support the campaign.

I won't be surprised if he loses, but think he's got a real chance to keep his seat for 3 reasons:

1) the election will occur when the UWLaCrosse and UW Eau Claire campuses are in summer session
2) voter ID might be in place by then
3) he has indicated he won't be running for re-election next year

The Dem. challenger Jen Schilling is likable enough and I'm sure we'd all survive if she is elected. Despite her misguided policies.

wv: puddeca (sounds like a dirty Italian word)

Irene, and here I've been digging out red bud volunteers all spring. You're right, an ornamental tree outside a study window is a pleasure.

Look at this map, from this piece in today's Daily Mail.

That's the Pakistan Military Academy there... just a short little walk off from the bin-Laden compound. At first I thought the P.M.A. was just a local thingy. But no, it's the military training institute for all of Pakistan-- it's their West Point.

Pakistan was clearly harboring bin-Laden.

But surely Pakistan would fear mighty America should we find out whom they were accommodating, right?

So there's only one conclusion: We've known bin-Laden has been there, at that compound, for years. Bush knew. Cheney knew. Obama knew. And now, just about one month (on the dot!) after he launches his 2012 campaign, Obama finally okays the killing of the world's most wanted bad guy.

It's the best kickstart to his campaign that Obama could possibly get. And one that was badly needed.

Remember way back when the head of the CIA, the White House Press Secretary, and other grown-ups used to answer questions about intelligence gathering by saying "we don't discuss sources and methods"?

Those were the days.

Nothing kicks off a political campaign like shooting someone in the face!

Seriously, do you even think while you write? Has the blow addled your brain that completely?

Lem, try Allegra-D. The pseudoephedrine takes a little getting used to, but it's the only thing I've tried that stops the headaches and shrinks my tonsils. Wal-mart only lets you buy 10 days supply at a time, since it's an ingredient in crystal meth.

With a projectile dildo, er...toy like that, 6 y.o. boys will be accused of rape.

Is "kickstart" the right word here? I mean, what's he planning to do for an encore? Cure cancer and then fuck Scarlet Johanssen on top of Quadaffi's shallow grave? Admittedly I'd probably vote for him if he pulled that one off.

I assume he'll get a poll bounce out of this, although I doubt it'll be much of one -- I mean, thanks for killing bin Laden and all, but the economy still sucks a golf ball through a garden hose. Will that bounce last 18 months? That'd be a "no".

I've studied this very closely and I determined that this photo of Osama taken immediately before they shot him is most likely a fake.

And now we hear rumblings that Panetta, not Obama, gave the order to go. That Obama was paralyzed [again] by indecisiveness, which is his trademark.

I don't doubt you, more than most of us, appreciate that growing life.

May you have many more Springs.

Insta is skeptical, but this is, if true, even worse than the business about how the decision was made to go to Libya.

The Dude said...

Isn't killing bin Laden what a president is supposed to do? We are happy he did his job? Surprised, sure, but a poll bounce? Why?

WV: coldertz - about the same as cold water, to a dead guy.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Sixteen-year-old Daniel Alvi, one of those who regularly played soccer and cricket in the field in front of the [Bin Laden] compound, said he daily saw a man in a red Suzuki van drive into the compound with a live goat, while the milkman only delivered outside the security gate and never rang the doorbell.

Somebody is going to surface saying that he told people Bin Laden was there and nobody believe it.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Word is that the name of Osama's currier was going or has already popped up in a Wikileaks dump and the CIA was afraid that Bin Laden would find out we knew about his trusted currier and subsequently would give us the slip again.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

The idea that Obamas hand was forced is not far fetched.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

And now we hear rumblings that Panetta, not Obama, gave the order to go.

Could the switch between Panetta and Petraeus have anything to do with this?

That Panetta has been too much of a hawk for Obama's taste?

I hope we don't have to wait for kiss and tell book to know the answers.

Irene, redbud seed pods are edible. Pick them when they are green and tender. I had some with lunch yesterday. I clip off the woody stems and saute them in bacon fat—everything's better with bacon.
