Very good collection, but could you add in Dirty Harry's "make my day"?

Not so much "famous movie quotes" as movie quotes containing the title of the famous movie.

I'll bet there could be a sub-category where the last spoken line of the film is the title. "While You Were Sleeping" comes to mind...

You want lines, Madame?

Sergeant, pour me some Scripture.

I'm lookin' at a tin star with a drunk pinned to it.

Do you know the dfference between money and glory? When you die, you get to take glory with you.

They don't pay me to second guess Yankee captains.

That'll be the day.

They'll fight over a bottle of whiskey, but share the last drop in their canteens.

The key is that a character says the title of the movie.

Too soon for A Serious Man?

Sometimes this kind of thing is a real groaner, as in the Olivier/Garson Pride and Prejudice (1940)?

How does it go?

"Why must you be so full of pride?"
"Why must you be so prejudiced?"

Not the exact title, but still.

So, in the greatest movie of all time, does anyone say "Caddyshack?"

Isn't this pretty common? My name is "Forrest Gump".

Fred4Pres said...

Not really quotes, just names of the movies. Too truncated. All of those movies had better quotes.

Caddyshack the greatest movie of all time? Perhaps. I was voting for Animal House for being first and Caddyshack a close second.

I just scanned the list of Robert Redford movies, and I still can't make out what he is saying in his clip.
