I have cleavage! I have cleavage! I have cleavage!

Pelosi's new cleavage reveal seems like a cool idea for defending Hillary Clinton, who recently received a lot of attention for showing cleavage while giving a speech in the Senate.

The solution is easy. It goes like this:

Come on, ladies! We can do it! We can defend Hillary from cruel prying eyes and incisive analysis of the Washington Post fashion columnist!

C'mon, politics aside, Pelosi does have a certain hotness about her. Heck, in her 60s she's a darn good looking woman.

Who wants to see someone's old grandma in a low cut short?

Presumably, the same crowd that drools over the idea of a glimpse at an aging "law" blogger.

I'm sure it's just a tit for tat between adversaries. I do agree with allen; Nancy has a much nicer rack.

Pelosi was just voted the 4th best looking person on capitol hill by The Hill newspaper, beaten only by Rep. Brad Ellsworth and a couple of twenty-something staffers. The Hill opined that "[i]t is rather uncomfortable calling the 67-year-old House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), mother of five and grandmother of six, 'hot.'" But contra The Hill and "Pissed off Hillbilly" I think the per se rule for such questions is over and done with, preferring to hold that such questions demand individualized consideration on the merits - and yes, in some cases, as Hoosier Dadddy notes, that may lead to strict scrutiny.

I presume there will be no comparable expose regarding the "Packages" sported by male pols in the immediate future? Thank God for little favors.

C'mon girls, show us what you got! Long live the double standard!

I am an Italian American. You call those pictures cleavage? They are nothing. My mother at 70 showed more cleavage.

Hillary I can understand, she is not Italian. Pelosi should know better.

Granpa ain't looking at Grandma's cleavage . . . he is looking at the 30 something next door.

Assuming he can see that far.

And I could be wrong . . . I am occasionally . . . but if people voted on the basis of cleavage Dolly Parton would be president.

Come to think of it . . there are worse outcomes.

I still maintain that, in Hillary's case, "showing collarbone" is more appropriate than "showing cleavage". I know men with bigger boobs.

Rev - perhaps, but it's the thought that counts. ;) And besides, that certainly doesn't appply to Nancy (although here's a picture of her with an even bigger boob).

When is Senator Reid going to make a speech with his shirt open to his navel? Solidarity shouldn't be limited by gender.

So every woman (and a few of the more adventurous cross-dressing men) in congress should step up, rip open their blouse, show off their foundational garments, and announce, "I am Boobiecus"

Or should that be "I am Tittiecus"?

Or maybe, "I am Tatacus"? (closer to the original, but less used euphemism)

Other acceptable phrases (inspired by this post)

"I am Jugsacus"

"I am Rackacus"

"I am Knockerscus"

"I am Bazoomacus"

Take your pick, it's up to the good folks in Congress to make this happen.

They've been acting like boobs collectively for some time now, so why not show them off, too.

So what they're saying is that women should be clothed to the neck as men are? If so, then there should also be no more skirts on the Floor. After all, people gaze from both directions. So if there is indeed all of this flack, there should be standardized dress -- a suit with pants, and dress shirt with tie -- for both men and women? That is the only way that women are going to escape this persecution.

Ohhhhh, but wait. Then there are the curves, even in a dark suit! She'll be crucified for that, too. The American media need to grow up and allow the people to get to the real issues at hand. And a woman always has a right to a sense of style and to reflect that. Mother of pearl!

I mean, gah, even the Statue of Liberty gets to show some dimpled elbow. (tsk-tsk)

Synova said...

I wouldn't call this cleavage. I agree with the Italian gentleman.

I think that everyone is just being silly because it was silly of that Robin person to go on about Hillary.

I admit this is probably fun, but please don't anyone try to tell me that someone seriously thinks the lower cut shirt under a suit that narrows the face and lengthens the neck doesn't actually look better than something higher and that it doesn't look plenty sharp and professional.

Simply idiotic to think you know things you don't know. You presume way too much, Ann. And, again, there you go knocking Democrats. Liberal, my ass.

Hey, I hear Texas Law School is hiring... (hint, hint...) Please go honor them.

To the contrary, it will be quite the loss. Still, we can be comforted in the knowledge that even if we don't have posts about breasts, as long as AJD and Alpha are around, we'll always have boobs.

blake said...

AL,

I don't think Althouse was knocking the knockers.

Chip Ahoy said...

To the posters that never miss a chance to hurl gratuitous ad hominem at their hostess, then take three posts to do it, when you persist with the trope on aging are you implying you're on a different timeline than the rest of humanity or are you reveling in your position on it?

Pelosi always looks great. She's not just proof what money can do, she has great taste. My eyes never go to Hillary's breasts, she could be topless and I'd still be fixated on her hips.

ricpic said...

Do man boobs qualify as cleavage?

AlphaLiberal said...

blake, I don't think she was knocking the knockers either.

I think she was carrying out yet another attack on Democrats, all the while whining she's not a Republican.

Can we get some nice conservative/republican tits in this place?

I am sick of looking at these saggy liberal sacks of milk.

I want hard patriotic tits that stand at attention and salute at the Amerian Flag.

Give my some Liddy Dole or Fred's wifes tits any day over the dogs in the democrat party.

I want a nice pair of tough on terror tits.

Pam Atlas Shrugs has a couple of the nicest globes and keeps them perky. Pelosi and Hilary's tits have just given up and surroundered are hanging to the ground to prove it.

Ann, it is high time you showed your cleavage again. Better yet, embrace feminism and show a picture of yourself topless.

For a fifty year old, you are hot. For a fifty year old law professor, you are super hot. Great body (especially great rack), nice hair, and beautiful eyes. You put both Hillary and Pelosi to shame. Now is your chance to show off.

By the way, are you single?

Titus said...

a topless vlog would be awesome.

a new high in the performance art that is althouse.

this would be something that would send a signal of a strong conservative woman who is comfortable with her feminity and i would absolutely love it.

and yes althouse does have a nice rack and is something i like forward to everytime she vlogs.

"I don't think she's ever vlogged wearing a hat."

hehe.

I *don't* see toplessness as being comfortable with feminity though. I mean, do guys have to get their dangly parts out in order to claim to be comfortable with their masculinity?

I tend to see toplessness, particularly political toplessness but also the Earth Goddess type of toplessness or bralessness as a sign of insecurity rather than security. If a person is *secure* they probably think very little about it one way or the other.

Being comfortable with my femininity doesn't mean that I have to be personally intimate with strangers.

Titus said...

I am sorry but am woman who is confident and secure enough to show her knockers is a wonderful thing.

It is femine, strong, and natural. I wish more women would let them be free and blow in the wind.

Alpha: I think she was carrying out yet another attack on Democrats, all the while whining she's not a Republican.

But the Hillary in cleavage weirdness was started by a Washington Post columnist who is - as far as I can tell - very liberal.

And Althouse has seemed lately like she's contemplating supporting Hillary for Prez so long as Hillary isn't pulled too far from the center by the Hard Left.

I could be wrong about that, but that's the feeling I've gotten. As a longtime Clinton-hater I find contemplating more Clintons in the White House sickening, but Althouse is not a Clinton-hater as far as I know and I can imagine her voting for Hillary just as easily as I can imagine her voting for Rudy. (If she does vote for Hillary, though, I hope she doesn't do so just to throw the nutroots for a loop.)
